The Kingdoms of Telgard: Changes on the Horizon
- by CD Mac

Howdy! I'd like to let everyone know what is is store for the Kingdoms of Telgard in the next couple of months. A few changes are down the line, all of which I'm sure you'll enjoy.

  • Telgard is getting a face lift! Yes, we're in the process of redesigning the logo, graphics and page layouts for the website. I hope to have everything done by our first year anniversary. (March 20th) Telgard Mail will NOT be on the new site, so if you are one of the few to have signed up for it, please bookmark the location. The service will still work if you'd like to continue using it.
  • More maps! Two new maps will be added to the webpage. Expect both a map of the High Reaches of Korgarr and the District of Dur-kren by March.
  • Race skills! Yes, the Council is currently working on a project to expand upon the list of skills that can be chosen at the start of play. These new skills will be race specific and look really neat so far! Don't worry, characters already in play will be given a chance to add the race skill, so don't start planning your current character's death just yet.  *wink*
  • In addition,  the moderating team is working on updating/creating more background information on the cities/races.  Expect some fun detail on the delfae, a new monster race that's really going to shake things up (especially for the unsuspecting elves), and a closeup look at the dwarven clan/political system.

Wanted: Elf Heroes
by AGM Cris

Greetings Elves of Telgard, I bring you grim tidings. Your elf maidens are to be despoiled and sacrificed in horrific cult rituals! Your elf males are currently suffering unimaginable indignities servicing the needs of the foul lairs of our enemies!

The proud, noble and peaceful Korakoulum goblin tribe of Deeg wishes to make friendly and profitable trade with the elves of Lirynn, but before we could meet, your elf emissaries were kidnapped by our rivals, the foul, depraved and warlike Greegore tribe. Due to tribal politics and our peaceful nature we cannot directly intervene, which is why we need you!

Wanted: Elf heroes needed to rescue beautiful elf maidens and noble elf lords held in captivity in scenic Mirg. You will be paid for performing this heroic task in diamonds! But much more importantly you will be rescuing your own kinfolk, your own brothers and sisters, your fellow elves!

Hurry and sign up. There is little time. Go to Silverdawn, the great, fruity capital of the elves, travel to the Sianne tier, and visit the Pale Moon Inn. Contact Kaarn, proud and masterful goblin of the Korakoulum tribe or Valrand, the first elf of Silverdawn to willingly join this noble and glorious quest.

See the World!

10 Reasons Why YOU Should Visit the Depths:

10. To see the Seer
9. To study magic
8. You're afraid of heights
7. To feel tall
6. To "strike it rich"
5. It's harder to get lost (just go uphill!)
4. No horse manure to step in
3. To learn all the dwarven and delfae profanity
2. To taste REAL Dwarven Ale

LAST BUT NOT LEAST.....

1. To see if marinated bat wing tastes as good as it sounds!

The 5 Places to Be in Telgard

5. Tegn: the center of learning, located in Korresh. Spooky things are happening now, but there is no better place to find wisdom.

4. Ta’ess: sand, sun and two exotic markets, what more could you ask for?

3. The High Reaches of Korgarr: ahh! Dwarven ale and exotic marketplaces makes this a trip well worth taking.

2. The Inner City of Maston: where the rich and the elite hobnob. If you have the money and the influence, you can buy your wildest dreams (or look for them in the Outer City)

1. The Kingdom of Mirg: who doesn’t love the gobs? They lie, cheat, swear and steal. What everyone wants to do, but doesn’t have the courage.

Pirates in Hasst
- by GM Nova

--- town crier ---

" Hear my words good folks!"

"The city guard has decided to give a reward to anyone who can point out the hideaway of the pirates who hold up the ships of the merchants trading goods in Hasst. Many of you may know about the great activity of pirates on our formerly secure sea routes. We wish to protect the merchants who maintain the wealth of our beloved capital and therefore we declare that anyone who gives a reasonable hint to the pirates hideout will be rewarded with 100 gold coins. "

--- Ss'tiss merchant ---

"If it goes on like this we'll all have to run caravans instead of ships. One can more easily guard and defend those than the heavy, slow ships. Those damn pirates are about everywhere it seems! Some captain working for Berrin Hargotten - you know that Dwarven merchant? - claims his ship, the 'Meerschaum' has been robbed last week, wednesday, at about midday, right the same time when they robbed my ship, the 'Assamess'! There have always been  pirates but now... seems they are organized, they are well-informed, they even know about our 'secret' routes. DAMN that ship had been on a completely new route, avoiding the areas where pirates had been seen. But still... they appeared... 'n got all those wonderful gems..."

--- Arthan Mardeen - captain of the 'Assamess' ---

"Yeah, yeah, they appeared out of the sudden, fast streamlined ships they got. Had no time to react, one shot and the rigging broke 'n they came aboard. Never seen such fast ships before.. 'n those pirates, they know what they do, as soon as they're aboard couple of 'em care about the sailors, bind 'em 'n then the majority of 'em immediately transships the most valuable goods. Just like.. like if they KNEW which ones are most valuable! And then, within a few minutes they're done 'n disappear, almost as fast as they appeared despite the goods' weight..."
