The Snog Report - The State of the Realms
- by Snog Gutterwump and the official S.I.R.A. reporters

Welcome all, to the latest installment of the Snog reports! This time around we have several reporters from all over the realm! I've been stuck at diner for so long that I was unable to travel the realms and gather reports! However, I managed to persuade *Toothy Grin*, several of  Telgard's best to help out! Ah, besides Telgard has grown too big for just one gob to cover.

Lirynn:

The storms of change have finally reached the elven nation. Making the great branches of Silverdawn sway, dimming the glimmer of the Glimmerwood, and infusing the mourning town of Na'el with a need to act. Elves pick up arms and ready themselves for a  battle, a battle against the evil Greegore Tribe!

The secretive elven sect of the Church of Telgard, has been in a dither ever since the Olaf'mounds tale reached elven ports. What, if anything could this mean?

Elven maidens have gone missing all over the realm, most were last seen in the Glimmerwood. At least we know two are in good hands, one is being rescued by the second bravest elf in Telgard! He has confronted her would be kidnappers with bow and arrow, needless to say they're not about to take the matter sitting down. The other maiden has found herself in the presence of an old elf and one of the bullheaded!

Yet, the maidens that have been captured so far, may have been found already! One lucky elven fellow has just found himself imprisoned with seven lovely maidens. It appears that gobs also captured these ladies as well. A valuable lesson has been learned though, when an invading race offers to play cards, drink and smoke shash... make sure you have at least a dozen armed guards backing you.

Silverdawn:

The ever growing city of Silverdawn, has put it's best astrologers to figuring out the portent of the sign of the serpent. However, their newest member seems to have made the most progress as she sits in library of Lirynn. She sorts through  the book of Omens and Portents, searching for a way to save the elven race from devastation.

The most bizarre occurrence would be the appearance of a goblin in the midst of Silverdawn! Even stranger he seems to be recruiting elves to attack his own kind! Although the one elf he has recruited seems to be doing nothing but lazing about an Inn. The gob also seemed to have a few people following him, who gave up once the goblin had been arrested for the second time in one day!

The visit from the goblin seems to have enticed the elven army in to a massive hiring spree. They've even gone so far as to recruit a elven berserker with a pet skunk!

Na'el:

The quiet town of Na'el, where they've just lost their mayor and only one adventurer deems it of importance enough to investigate. He may be in over his head.

The resurgent grass roots movement called Ke'site, has grown again in Na'el. Being fueled by the rumors from Mirg, the ones that have the Siril'kete in a fit.

At least some adventures have decided to do something about the disappearing maidens. Two elves and two humans have taken up arms and thrown aside their peace bonds, in order to get to the bottom of mystery. They've also volunteered to harvest some rare herbs for Tel'arifae the largest portion of The elven Church of Telgard.

Yes, the winds have definitely picked up in this once peaceful kingdom, whipping up the dust of mischievousness and sending the olive branch of peace sailing out of reach... This is KM Storm signing off.

Yes, we gobs have definitely become a thorn in the elven nations side! Ha ah ha ! Well on to the dust bowl known as Tahnn.

Tahnn:

This lizard populated country, still goes through it's regular motions. As the rest of Telgard plunges in to chaos and darkness, Tahnn plods on in it's dust filled life.

Hasst:

What's going on?

Ever heard of the pirates robbing the merchant ships sailing the trading routes from Tahnn to other kingdoms of Telgard?  Well in Hasst a group of "investigators" has now been hired to find out more about a traitor in a merchant's office and those damn pirates... Can anyone believe those young'ens who've been hired will solve the problem? Hah! Better send out some ships to protect the trading routes...

And it is no better out in the streets of Hasst. Two men, wandering the streets at nights, have been knocked out and found themselves imprisoned in a small room in one of the most famous  brothels of Hasst. Can anyone believe? Those men who brought them there claimed they are robbers who tried to rob them and sent for the guards - well, they said they would call for the guards and then just disappeared...

Last but not least there is this 'ghost ship'... No one knows what's going on aboard, 't has just been sailed into the port by a few sailors who weren't seen again after that night. I have heard rumors about a nasty critter pestering the ship - seems it has killed most of the crew.

A single critter  able to kill a complete crew?!?

~This is GM Nova signing off!

Oasis of Ta'ess:

Newcomers to the Oasis have been spotted, seeking to parch their thirst. A three and a half foot misharr, an elf, and a human seem to be finding business among themselves... seems that business may be picking up. In not too long, Tahnn might find itself a booming center of business deals. The climate seems perfect for it, considering that members of both parties do not seem to wish to spend more time on deals in this climate.  For now, things remain quite at the oasis, making it the perfect pit stop for a vacation. But, who knows when desert raiders will pillage, or a sandstorm will hit or a rare desert monster will attack?...

Corendis signing off. No, wait! Don't light that...

There you see those poor souls trapped in that dry aired land called Tahnn!! At least my sources there choose to report!!! Ack! Anyhow, let's move on to my eyes and ears in Korresh!!!

CONTINUED ON PAGE SIX.......

Hire a Guide...
or Die Stupid
- by Corendis

Will they never learn?  People, please hire a guide for the Tahnn wilderness. It will save you much despair in the desert.  People are ALWAYS neglecting to pack this or pack that.  On the other hand, people pack enough to weigh down an army of camels at times as well.  A guide will help you sort through what you need to bring, what you need to buy, and what you should leave behind.  Too much weight will slow your progress so that you NEVER return from the desert. For crying out loud, you would think people would remember to bring some water.  These poor individuals, without fail, seem to end up in the Oasis, parched of throat and about to kill themselves by guzzling water after weeks without it.  Do these fools not know that a
glass of water is likely to kill them after that excursion?  Ah, but a guide will protect you from yourself.  They know the ways of the desert… so seek a guide before heading into the desert (someone like me perhaps…).

As a matter of fact, look for a guide in whatever wilderness you might be
in. What they know might just save your life

Brahmin "The Insane"
-by the famous Rrewran Yarren, bard

Two people disappeared one night, a woman and her son.
Where have they gone or have they been killed by anyone?
The husband of the woman, some mage of certain power
has been outcast of Korgarr since he wasn't seen that hour.

So he collected all his riches and disappeared that night,
headed out for Tahnn and its deadly desert without fight.
Wandering Misharr saw him next at some oasis in the desert
Babbling about his riches, he got the interest of a shepherd.

Alive he wasn't ever seen again but found was his dead body
His flesh cut into slices, his clothes stiff, all bloody.
No one ever dared again follow this insane Dwarven mage
everyone was afraid of him and no one dared take his gage.

In his caverns he now rots, the caverns he built all alone,
the caverns where he hid all that he called his own
To find the riches one must enter and avoid his traps
And believe me, you better never take any naps...

Barrows Update
by Steve Tuytschaevers

A whisper of the wind . . . the scuttled rumor of a search party is lifting on the morning stench of Outer Maston this day. I know not the truth of this whisper, but a group of reckless men seek the whereabouts of the rebellion leader thought caught by the soldiers of the Inner City . . . or worse, the remnants of the slaver guilds. This rumor is kept in it's place be true, in the hearts of the faithful who want Maston free . . . in the hopes that the light of victory will hold on to save them from their cast lot, poverty & enslavement.

Send your prayers on wings up high!  The sun is bright & hot and the struggle is far from over. Things unfold . . . viscious things that lay
in wait.  My sword is sharpened crisp, will you stand with us?  Will you fight for freedom, my friend?

The Dome in Hasst is Finally Finished!
- by GM Nova

~ Ellissen S'issess**, talking to his brother in Ta'ess ~

You surely remember this ambitious Ss'tiss architect who had suggested to build up a dome of glass amidst the city under which an exotic garden would be hatched a couple of years ago?

Well, after our city council had agreed to finance this project he hired an enormous amount of craftsmen and workmen for the creation of frosted glass pieces that were later combined for the cupola of this huge building. Meanwhile they built up the scaffolding, a twelve foot high wall of some sort of grey stone with huge windows that have crystal-clear glass and are as wide and as high as a man is tall so that a passer-by may enjoy the sight of the various plants inside. The huge reservoir of water deep in the ground under the city is used to feed the various fountains that add to a tropical atmosphere inside the dome and water the plants outside of it.

You know, now they have REALLY finished this marvelous building! I know, it's unbelievable...
They really managed to install the glassy cupola right upon that wall! And then they installed several beautiful fountains made of marble inside... *rolling his eyes* And outside the building is surrounded with a broad stripe of desert vegetation; palms and small trees as well as various sorts of nattus* and flowers which are normally only found at the oases; even one or two sorts of very rare birds have been settled here. Paths lead through these outer gardens so that you can walk amongst the plants or reach one of the ebony doors that lead into the dome. Brother, you must SEE that yourself!

Only the plants inside are still missing...
The city council has promised to take up negotiations with the Kingdoms of Korresh, Mirg and Lirynn to buy the seeds that are needed for breeding the plants that shall adorn the garden inside the dome. Meanwhile they have ordered seeds of flowers and herbs growing at the oases all over Tahnn, they shall be crossed with foreign plants but also add to the exotic variety of plants inside the dome. Can you imagine such a wonderful garden amidst a desert?! Not even the oases will be able to compete with such a variety of colorful flowers and medicinal herbs *admiring sigh*

We can only hope that we will receive the seeds from those Kingdoms soon so that this wonderful dome may find use since it has been awfully expensive to build it up... Ah but it was definitely worth it! It is wondrous and so beautiful with its cupola entirely made of glass and the wonderful outer garden...

You MUST come to Hasst and visit me once it is completely finished, you MUST!    ....
