Roland Report -
KM Zed......if you dare.
- By Roland Moonstar
Hi Jacco. Cub bard Roland Moonstar here,
roaming around Telgard as usual. For the inaugral issue of THE SNOG REPORT
WITH JAACO NAMORI, I thought I would add a feature that that would be fun:
a focus on some of the people and lands that make Telgard great.
The Roland Report, a fully formed subsdiary
of TSRWJN. This issue, the spotlight is on Tahnn, and I have here with
me KM Zed.
**************************
1) Thank you for coming, and welcome to
the Roland Report. So, tell me about yourself. How long have you
been KM here, and where were you before this (if GM or AGM.)?
Zed: I've been here for as long as the universe
existed, and the Tree stood. Why, I remember days when the sun rose in
the west, and set in my pocket! I remember days when the mages of old walked
this land unbidden and unchallenged! Well, maybe I don't remember THAT...
But I do remember a
time when the Misharr were a mere glimmer
of design in the weaves of Fate! No, that doesn't mean I should remember
the mages as well. Selective memory, y'see.
2) In your own words, what makes Tahnn
so great? (If you have a city that needs new players, feel free to
throw in some PR of that place here. )
Zed: Tahnn is a land of adventure and mystery!
If you seek to challenge the elements themselves, Tahnn is the land where
the ultimate challenge awaits you. The dunes of Tahnn hide the greatest
of all treasures, and wonders hidden from all for millenia. Adventure awaits
all who visit the deserts,
for many a scoundrel arrive as well, attracted
as they are by tales of riches untold. Should you seek to test your mettle
'gainst the mightiest warriors the Disk... er, Telgard has known, the Ss'tiss
shall welcome you and accept your challenge. As they dance their worship
to their harsh God, these fierce defenders practice their ultimate weapons
-- the Sunblades -- until one cannot tell where the hand ends and the blade
begins.
The Misharr, these wondrous craftspeople,
shall challenge your with and skill in any art you name, and their trades
are masterful and known across the land. To any that come, they bid well
and trade tale for tale, mystery for mystery.
Tahnn. The land that stands as a silent challenge
to all who dare accept it. Tahnn. The land of pleasures untold to all who
dare explore them. Tahnn. The unknown awaits you.
3) Ok, if you had to choose in real life...
which would you rather be, lizard or cat?
Zed: Cat. Hell, I AM a cat already.
4) Tell me about one really good thread
you are moderating...or watching.
Zed: Zoriaynna Auroria Yandril in Krull. "And
So the Journey Begins..." And indeed it does.
5) Indeed, that is a most excellent example
of roleplaying, thank you.
Tell me of one really bad, but funny thread.
(A guy declaring himself king of the desert, inventing a secret mountain
fortress, etc.)
Zed: (sigh...) Go look up a thread called
"A Human Raised by Misharr." It's in Hasst, on page 3. Author's Sakyrua
Toyto. Use it as a reference on what NOT to do.
6) Ah... a lesson for all: do not announce
that you are best friends with the High Priest of the Ss'tiss... it is
a good example, and well worth reading. Ok, next question: Has there
ever been a Misharr applicant who didn't want his or her character to be
a thief?
Zed: Yes. Off the top of my head, me :) Shiar
was/is a bard, for the most part. She also specializes in stealing things...
Ooops. :)
7) How does someone play a Ss'tiss so it's
not just a human in a lizard suit? Any advice for new players?
Zed: Look at the Klingons. Now add a healthy
dose of calm, and a fighting style elevated to an art. Oh, and don't forget
a unifying religion. That's all I can really say. From here, you're on
your own :)
8) That's good advice, thanks! What's
the best or worst thing about working with KM Kestrel?
Zed: Imaginative, creative, funny, actually
DOES work(unlike me), and a great friend.
Worst? Six hour time zone difference.
9) Sudden hardball zinger question: I see
a place mentioned Naczach'sh on the boards but not on the webpage, and
on the page I see Zsethshh and Shha'kesh, which don't have forums.
How does everything connect, and is there a correlation between these names
and the three tribes, Zhantchress, Sha'essin, and Ssthinesh?
Zed: Kestrel will respond that one next issue.
:)
10) Any final comments? Praise or
ribbing for anyone in the Tahnn hierarchy?
Zed: Nah :)
KMZ, signing off, and wishing everyone a
great new year.
Thank you very much for your time, KM Zed!
This has been Roland Moonstar, speaking to you from the beautiful oasis
of Ta'ess, until next time.....
