MINOTAUR RELIGION AND CULTURE:
Minotaurs
have very little religion as such; as a race, they tend to adopt
the religion of their home kingdom superfically and then otherwise
ignore it, with one exception; all minotaurs revere an ancestor
who lived at the time of the Sundering--when the minotaurs were
forced from their homeland--who 'pacified' the races and granted
them their musical gifts. He is known simply as The Ancestor, and
despite their excellent memory and long oral tradition, none can
remember his name.
Minotaur
culture consists of two parts; the first is influenced from where
they were raised, and the second part is universal among minotaurs.
Perhaps the most stern rule they have is against the touching of
weapons of war; as said earlier, almost all minotaurs interpret
the spirit of this law as meaning no violence is allowed. In any
event, the letter of the law is strictly enforced, including hiring
mercenaries to hunt down the rogue if necessary. The perceived spirit
of the law is strongly adhered to; individuals who obey the letter
but not the spirit of the law are outcast permanently.
In addition,
minotaur culture revolves around the storing and passing on of a
long history of oral tradition. Their histories span centuries,
though there are two blank areas; the origin of the minotaurs, and
the cause of the Sundering. All minotaurs are at least amateur performers,
usually in storytelling or singing--this is by virtue of one of
the gifts of the Ancestor. Art and history play a large role, and
the crafts that a minotaur's surpisingly deft fingers can create
sell well. There are virtually no permanent minotaur settlements;
a minotaur who can't carry everything he owns on his back is seldom
looked upon favourably.

MINOTAUR
NOBILITY:
There
is no minotaur nobility as such--only those eldest who are the Keepers
of the Songs are considered 'more equal' than other minotaurs. Some
individuals earn noble titles from other races, but this is rare.
