ELVES IN GENERAL:

Physical description: Elves are usually tall and slender. They are around the same heights as humans, with slender builds and angular, exotic features. With hair colour ranging from black to light blond, and eye color usually brown or green, the elven people can be a beautiful one, and this is reflected in their grace and their enthusiasm for beauty and life. Elves live in a communal, non-capitalistic society that emphasizes communion with the environment. Such trade as they engage in is for barter for that which they cannot get themselves, which due to the nature of their Racial Skill tends to be a gratifyingly small number. In addition, all elves abhor magic of all kind, despite being highly magical themselves; most scholars believe this is due to the loss of two of their favoured rulers a long time ago through a magical explosion.

ELVEN PCs:

Elves are graceful and swift but not very strong; PCs are limited to a strength of three. Their magical nature gives them infravision, and such PCs who break the ironlike social taboo against magic find they have a great deal of power. They'll need it; they'll swiftly find themselves hunted by other elves.

For more information on the elven racial skills, the Lifesong, please see the Skills page.

ELVES AND THE OTHER RACES:

Elves have a superior attitude to all the other races, whom most elves view as 'children' at most and 'uncivilized barbarians' at worst. They are coldly polite, but it has only been very recently that anyone of another race was allowed near Silverdawn; most visitors are limited to the village of Na'el. Two races elves dislike; an elf who learns of the existance of the delfae will be instantly prejudiced due to their use of magic; in addition, any goblin is so hated that most elves think nothing of their repugnance for shedding blood and grimly do all within their power to exterminate any goblin that comes their way.
