DELFAE HISTORY:

The Delfae were once a race of light-coloured beings, moving about happily on the surface in tribes and family groups. Somewhat barbaric, they came against a great enemy that split the families apart, though they know not what that enemy was.

Soon after, a seer was born to the delfae, and thus was discovered the first magic talent. The seer predicted the return of the enemy, and for a long time the delfae waited and grew in their power, discovering other magic talents and building their defenses. But the attack they expected was not the attack they received...the sun they worshipped so fiercely was turned against them, blistering their skin and blinding their sight.

Another special delfae was born...one destined to become their leader. This was the Winged Delfae, and she led the delfae into caves deep in the earth. Two groups did not follow, however...one a barbaric group and the other a spirtual one. The spiritual ones would reencounter them later, but the barbaric one was never found.

The delfae built a home for themselves in the rock, sneaking out at night for items from the surface. They had no contact with others until their lost kin rejoined them, claiming there were others on the surface more like delfae than like animals, who had minds and were also under attack by a fierce enemy.

The Delfae split into two groups...the lost ones, who would remain behind, and the ones who would support the surface-people. The delfae built a long tunnel, and then sealed it behind them, sealing the two groups apart. The Winged one stayed behind; the Regent claims a mystical connection to the Winged one and rules the ones who left to support the surface.

The fighters could not bear the sun, but did their best to help from afar. After the enemy was gone, the delfae encountered dwarves for the first time, and they officially allied with each other, leading to the culture that exists in Korgarr today.

DELFAEN VARIATIONS:

There are three known variations of the Delfae; the barbarians; those who did not help the surface races; and those who broke off and did. All Delfae PCs are of this last variety; there is little known and even less contact with the other two tribes of delfae.
