DELFAEN RELIGION AND CULTURE:
Delfae
have lost a great deal of their religion; now, they embrace a philosophy
involving magic and the evolution of the soul. Souls are reborn
when they die into a new creature, and all creatures are ranked
according to which is the most evolved...with delfae, of course,
being at the top. In addition, the Delfae venerate any of a multitude
of spirits, those delfae who have died and evolved to a more perfect
form, their souls well on their way to acheiving god-hood. Very
few delfae follow the Church of Telgard and those that do are almost
always delfae that have moved from the main group to the surface.
Delfae
live in a patriarchal society, where the head of the household is
the eldest male. Younger sons move out to start their own homes
when they marry; the eldest son will build an attachment to his
parents' home and will inherit his father's position when his own
eldest son marries. Entire generations of families will live in
one house, sometimes about four at a time, and the elders are responsible
for the education of the children.

DELFAEN
NOBILITY:
Delfaen
nobility mostly consists of the Winged One--one is born every generation,
though it is rarely related to the last Winged One--who rules the
Delfae, the Regent, who rule the groups of Delfae who have seperated
in place of the Winged One,, and those mages who have acheived high
positions. Inherited titles are rare among the delfae, almost always
unnecessary and unwanted gifts of the Dwarves. There are some family
lines which determines magical talents and ability, for the most
part, but individuals are still required to advance on their own
merits.
