The Elemental mage is most often called a battle-mage by his kin; his magics are almost always seen as combative, though truly beautiful things can be done with them. His is the power over Earth, Air, Fire and Water, and the corresponding elements of Metal, Electricity, Light and Cold.

Scarring from Elemental magics involve transmutation into an element or the attraction or repelling of an element, usually, though anything else can be possible.

Appropriate focuses for Elemental magics are always a part of the element one is manipulating or something that serves in manipulating that element; for instance, a magnet manipulates electricity, and a prism manipulates light.

LEVELS OF ADVANCEMENT:

None: As with all sorcery talents, after Awakening the pupil almost always heads directly into the Apprentice state of perception.

Apprentice: The mage can perceive the magical properties of the elements as well as any patterns or movements within; this is often useful for predicting weather or where a firestorm will head or where lightning will strike.

Journeyman: The mage can begin to manipulate existing elements by changing their shape or their movement...the mage can also increase or decrease the element, which becomes more difficult the more the journeyman changes.

Mage: The mage can create elements out of nothing and can manipulate the properties of those elements--for instance, make fire that has no heat yet still burns, or air that is solid.

Adept: The mage can manipulate massive amounts of elements and can create horrific effects. In addition, he can combine elements to create strange effects.

LOST ABILITIES: In ancient times, it is believed that the known four elements were tied into a Fifth Element, Life; this metaphorical element was an invocation of all the elements one found within a living being, enabling healing or turning oneself into a being composed entirely of a single element. This was somehow related to Form and Form's lost abilities, but no one now knows how so.
